Renowned folk singer Aditya Gadhvi is set on transforming the perception of Gujarati music, challenging the notion that it is limited to garba tunes. His new release, 'Meetha Khara' for Coke Studio Bharat, brings the tale of the Agariya community's courage and has already garnered 11 million views on YouTube.
The song, produced by Siddharth Amit Bhavsar, includes collaborations with singers Thanu Khan and Madhubanti Bagchi. In an interview with PTI, Gadhvi expressed his wish to showcase the diversity of Gujarati folk music through his innovative approach, demonstrating its potential beyond traditional portrayals.
Gadhvi's passion for regional music was fueled post his education at Maestro A R Rahman's institute. His earlier success with 'Khalasi/ Gotilo' redefined regional music's appeal. With the shift towards regional music popularity, Gadhvi takes pride in contributing significantly to this cultural evolution.
