A Ray of Hope for 22,000 Madrasa Teachers: UP Government's Action Plan

In a significant move, the Uttar Pradesh government is working on a plan to offer relief to about 22,000 teachers left jobless after the Madrasa Modernisation Scheme was discontinued. Officials have been directed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to devise a roadmap for their reintegration.

The discontinuation of the scheme left many teachers without pay for over two years. Initially, these educators were appointed under a scheme that introduced modern subjects into madrasa education, with funds primarily from the central government.

Teachers' representatives are hopeful, viewing the move as a positive step. The initiative aims to uphold the rights of teachers who have been contributing significantly to education since 1995.
