Delhi Unveils New Swimming Pool to Boost Sports in Schools

On Friday, Delhi Education and Sports Minister Ashish Sood inaugurated a newly constructed swimming pool at the Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya School in Saraswati Vihar. The swimming facility, built at a cost of Rs 2.60 crore, is part of a broader initiative to bolster sports infrastructure for local students.
Sood highlighted that the pool's construction, which began in 2018, had faced significant delays but was finally completed in 2026. He emphasized the facility's role in opening up new sports opportunities for students from nearby areas, enabling them to excel in sports alongside academics.
The Delhi government is simultaneously working to improve educational infrastructure, aiming for all schools to achieve 'NIPUN' certification with enhanced learning outcomes. Additionally, financial assistance is available to support students preparing for state and national competitions, underlining the city's commitment to holistic student development.
