A group of right-wing activists has been accused of rioting, vandalism, and assault on the NMIMS University campus. Police reports indicate that the accused stormed the premises on February 12, causing damage and attacking individuals.
The activists claimed an 'obscene event' was being held in celebration of Valentine's Day. However, the university refuted these allegations, stating the event was actually a student-run bakery sale aimed at developing vocational skills.
To date, five individuals have been named in the case registered at the Gandhi Nagar police station, with additional suspects being identified through video footage, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Shrikrishna Lalchandani.
