Queen's University Belfast Cuts Ties with George Mitchell over Epstein Links

Queen's University Belfast has decided to cut ties with former U.S. Senator George Mitchell, citing concerns over his association with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. This follows the release of new information from the U.S. Justice Department's files linked to Epstein, which prompted the university's decision.

The university plans to remove Mitchell's name from the Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice and eliminate his bust from the campus. Although no legal wrongdoing has been attributed to Senator Mitchell, the university stated it is no longer appropriate to maintain these associations.

Attempts to reach Mitchell and his associated think tank have gone unanswered. Meanwhile, the US-Ireland Alliance has also chosen to dissociate Mitchell's name from its scholarship program, referencing the same newly unveiled documents.
