Outrage Over Midday Meal Served on Waste Paper in Maihar School

In a startling incident in Maihar district of Madhya Pradesh, students at a government school were served their Republic Day mid-day meal on pieces of waste paper and pages from old notebooks instead of plates. The incident quickly drew attention after video footage went viral, prompting the district administration to take immediate action.

According to officials, the incident took place at the Government High School in Bhatigwan, where students were seen sitting on the floor and eating halwa-puri off torn notebook pages. Public Relations Officer for Satna and Maihar, Rajesh Singh, announced that strict actions have been initiated following an investigation report by District Project Coordinator Vishnu Tripathi. A proposal to suspend the school's in-charge principal, Sunil Kumar Tripathi, has been submitted, and a salary deduction has been applied to BRC employee Pradeep Singh.

The issue has also sparked political outrage. The opposition Congress party, through spokesperson Sangeeta Sharma, criticized the ruling BJP, condemning the incident as a failure of governance. Sharma targeted Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, questioning the sensitivity and effectiveness of the government's administration.
