In a disconcerting incident, a school-cum-madrassa in Moradabad faces legal scrutiny after being accused of demanding a 'virginity test' report before admitting a student. The father of the 13-year-old filed an FIR, sparking an investigation into the school's practices.
The student, who had missed school for an extended period, initially comes from Chandigarh but the family now resides in Moradabad. Upon attempting re-enrolment, the school allegedly requested the test, home to students from grades up to class 8, without prior notice to its administration.
Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar stated the investigation could lead to further legal actions against the institution, which is recognized by the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Board and Basic Shiksha Department. The school serves as both a madrassa and an inter college.
