Central Railway is set to carry out a significant 15-hour block of both traffic and power starting April 25, between Umbermali and Atgaon stations on its Main Line in Thane district. This initiative aims at non-interlocking work for the Khardi yard remodelling, impacting suburban and long-distance train operations.

This project is part of a larger third-line installation between Kalyan and Kasara stations intended to increase operational capacity and improve overall train movement efficiency. Consequently, suburban train services between Asangaon and Kasara will be temporarily suspended.

The maintenance block will disrupt regular train schedules, causing short-term terminations, reroutes, and cancellations, including the CSMT-Dhule Express. However, CR assures that these temporary disturbances are necessary for the durability and safety enhancement of railway infrastructure
