India and Qatar conducted crucial talks on Thursday, focusing on boosting bilateral trade and fortifying supply chain resilience amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia.
The discussions brought together Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and Qatari Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed.
Key objectives included doubling bilateral trade, currently at USD 14 billion, by 2030 and negotiating a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Recent geopolitical tensions, especially involving the US, Israel, and Iran, have disrupted cargo movement, posing challenges to trade with West Asian nations.
