President Droupadi Murmu expressed her deepest condolences and wished for the swift recovery of the injured, showing solidarity with the grieving families.
The incident occurred around 8.30 pm when a descending truck reportedly lost its brakes and caused a chain reaction collision by ramming into a preceding truck. A car caught in between was crushed, adding to the fatalities, police reported.
The devastating crash also involved another vehicle that ignited, increasing the tragedy’s severity. The Mirzapur accident stands as a grim reminder of the need for stringent vehicular safety measures and road traffic regulations.
