Shipping companies have cautiously embraced Iran's announcement that the Strait of Hormuz is open. However, they require further clarifications before vessels pass through this critical maritime corridor.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated the strait is accessible to all commercial vessels amid a 10-day Lebanon ceasefire, resulting in decreased oil and commodity prices while stock markets saw gains. Still, shipping groups are seeking confirmation regarding navigation freedom and security.

The International Maritime Organization and the Norwegian Shipowners' Association stress verifying safety and conditions. Amidst this, some international shipping entities, like Hapag-Lloyd, are cautiously optimistic about resuming operations soon.
