A group of female passengers was booked for causing a disturbance on the Bengaluru metro, authorities announced on Friday. The commotion occurred on March 15, as the group sang loudly while traveling from Bengaluru International Exhibition Centres to the Kempegowda Metro Station.
Complaints from fellow commuters compelled some to disembark at Peenya Industrial Area station to continue their objections, which temporarily hindered train operations. Security personnel quickly brought the escalating situation under control.
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited confirmed the incident stating that the female passengers, returning from a concert, had been identified and detained, only to be released with a warning after expressing remorse. A minor non-cognisable report was filed based on a complaint from BMRCL security.
