Reliance Jio has further solidified its leadership in India's telecom landscape, posting substantial gains in both wireless and home broadband subscriber numbers, according to a recent JM Financial report.
The telecom industry saw a resurgence in net wireless subscriber additions in January 2026, with Jio leading the charge by adding 1.6 million subscribers. The report highlighted that while Jio's net addition was slightly down from December 2025's 1.8 million, its active subscriber measure remained steady at 98.3 percent.
In the home broadband arena, Jio maintained its aggressive expansion strategy with JioAirFiber, accounting for 0.78 million new subscribers in January 2026. Although there's been a minor drop in growth within the 5G fixed wireless access segment, Jio holds a commanding 70.9 percent market share. Currently, Jio is the largest telecom provider in India, boasting a comprehensive subscriber base of 517.56 million across its broadband services.
