A technical glitch forced Air India’s A350 flight from New York to Delhi to divert to Shannon, Ireland, leaving over 220 passengers stranded on Monday.
The aircraft landed safely, but passengers and crew were temporarily grounded in the Irish town. Air India responded promptly, deploying a special Boeing 787 flight from Zurich to Shannon.
All passengers received a goodwill gesture of Rs 20,000 each and safely arrived in Delhi by early Thursday morning, restoring normalcy after the precautionary diversion.
