Railway Progress: Unity Over Politics

In a recent Lok Sabha session, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized that railway development transcends politics, connecting citizens with essential services. The minister highlighted the collective responsibility of political parties and state governments in completing railway projects to ensure justice for common citizens.

Addressing concerns over delays, Vaishnaw noted the progress of railways relies on factual cooperation rather than political allegiance. He mentioned seamless state collaborations in land acquisitions as evidence of effective partnerships, refuting the notion of railways being a political tool. Safety advancements in Vande Bharat trains, replacing traditional coupling with semi-permanent couplers and introducing anti-climbing features, were outlined.

Additionally, Vaishnaw discussed Kerala's capacity expansion projects and measures to deter vandalism, such as using AI and cameras on Vande Bharat trains to identify offenders. The minister praised the opposition for acknowledging Vande Bharat's public acceptance, underscoring the importance of unified progress for national development.
