In a statement released on Thursday, the ministry confirmed it is seeking further clarification from Iran's ambassador to determine the circumstances of the incident.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards, as reported by the Tasnim news agency, claimed that the ship was "fired upon by Iranian fighters," escalating diplomatic tensions between the two nations.
