In response to a significant shortage of commercial LPG cylinders, hotels in Puducherry are shifting menus to conserve fuel, a move prompted by ongoing geopolitical tensions between the United States and Iran. This disruption has forced hospitality businesses to adopt stringent measures to keep service consistent.

A local hotel owner revealed that tea, coffee, and juice would be available only during restricted hours, as supply for tiffin items has been impacted. Actions to prioritize domestic LPG supply have left the commercial sector waiting for improvements. According to a dealer, the central government has mandated that priority be given to household consumers.

Despite these challenges, hotels have assured clients with existing bookings of uninterrupted service, while new bookings are informed of potential issues.
