The contentious issue of modernising the 123-year-old Dimapur Railway Station was a major topic during Question Hour in the Nagaland Assembly.

NPP MLA Nuklutoshi raised concerns about the project, highlighting mutual blame among stakeholders over widespread land encroachment. Despite illegal structures being built over the years, no formal complaint was lodged by the railway authorities. With approximately 614 illegal occupants and over 1,100 unauthorized structures, the project faces significant hurdles.

Minister for Transport P Paiwang Konyak assured that collaborative efforts are underway to resolve the issue. The Indian government has sanctioned funds under the Amrit Bharat Scheme for upgrading the station. Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio emphasized addressing land disputes for the project's progress.
