Diplomatic Drone Drama: Iran and Azerbaijan in Dialogue

In a diplomatic exchange on Sunday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian assured Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev that Tehran was not responsible for the recent drone incursions into Azerbaijan. An investigation into the matter is a priority, Pezeshkian confirmed, according to Aliyev's office.

The incident in question involved an airstrike on Nakhchivan, which Pezeshkian insisted had no ties to Iran. Despite these assurances, Pezeshkian committed to a comprehensive investigation to uncover the origins of the incident.

Azerbaijani authorities reported that four Iranian drones crossed its border last Thursday, an incursion that left four people injured in the Nakhchivan exclave. The event has prompted talks between the two nations to address the security breach.
