India's Export Growth: Autos and Agriculture Break into Europe
India's exports of agricultural products and automobiles to Europe surged in April-December 2025, boosted by a new free trade agreement. The European Union's share in India's automotive exports climbed from 9.8% to 11.6%, with total shipments growing significantly. Agricultural exports, especially cereals, also saw notable increases.

India is witnessing a notable increase in exports of agricultural products and automobiles to European markets, reflecting healthy growth during the period of April-December 2025, as reported by the Commerce Ministry.
The data highlights a significant rise in India's global automotive exports, reaching USD 19.3 billion within the first nine months of the 2025-26 fiscal year, with the European Union's share climbing to 11.6 per cent, up from 9.8 per cent in the comparable period of 2024. Exports to the EU surged from USD 1.6 billion to USD 2.2 billion, supported by a newly concluded free trade agreement.
In addition to automotive exports, India saw robust growth in shipments of fish, coffee, tea, spices, cereals, gums, and resins to the EU. Cereal exports alone increased from USD 181 million to USD 339 million, with zero-duty access under the agreement poised to further boost these figures.
