In a tragic incident in Panihati, West Bengal, two cyclists lost their lives after a collision with a Kolkata-bound private bus, officials reported. The accident occurred on B T Road, resulting in the cyclists' demise at Sagar Dutta Medical College and Hospital.
The bus responsible for the accident has been impounded, although its driver and conductor managed to flee the scene, according to the authorities. Additionally, two individuals traveling in an auto-rickshaw sustained injuries in the crash and are currently receiving medical treatment at the same hospital.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to uncover the exact sequence of events leading to this tragic incident, the officer confirmed.
