The Indian government is poised to sustain the growth of its domestic semiconductor industry with the launch of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0. This move aims to extend the momentum created by the initial program over the next five to six years, as stated by S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.

In his address to media outlets, Krishnan emphasized the Prime Minister's commitment to long-term support for the sector through what is termed a 'steady policy.' He dubbed the current fiscal framework a 'tech budget,' highlighting significant announcements set to drive further momentum in the technology sector.

Krishnan also pointed out the near doubling of electronic component manufacturing outlays to Rs 40,000 crore, which positions India as a potential global data center hub. Addressing internet governance, discussions focus on international management and administration. Preparations for the India AI Summit are also nearing completion, with registration enthusiasm high, according to Krishnan.
