In a significant move, Hinduja Group's core company, Ashok Leyland, has announced a key partnership with PT Pindad, a state-owned entity in Indonesia. The agreement was formalized on Wednesday with plans to collaborate on the production of electric buses and defense vehicles within the Indonesian market.
The memorandum of understanding between the two firms seeks to address the burgeoning demand for advanced electric vehicle solutions and enhanced defense mobility in Indonesia. It underscores a strategic alignment of Ashok Leyland's commercial EV expertise and Pindad's local engineering prowess in catering to specific regional requirements.
According to Amandeep Singh, the President of International Operations at Ashok Leyland, this joint venture is poised to develop vehicles designed to handle Indonesia's unique geographical and infrastructural challenges, enhancing both mobility and defense capabilities.
