In a significant boost to India's aerospace capabilities, Airbus has unveiled a Centre of Excellence (CoE) dedicated to aerospace studies at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) in Vadodara, Gujarat. This initiative underpins a strengthened alliance between Airbus and GSV aimed at enhancing India's aerospace ecosystem through concerted efforts in research, innovation, and talent cultivation.

The CoE's agenda includes pioneering research on Sustainable Aviation Fuel and encouraging student-led innovations in futuristic aerospace technologies. The announcement, made in 2024, featured key figures such as Jurgen Westermeier, Airbus India and South Asia President, and Shubhanginiraje Gaekwad, GSV Court member, along with Prof. Manoj Choudhary, Vice Chancellor of GSV.

Prof. Manoj Choudhary emphasized GSV's mission under Chancellor Ashwini Vaishnaw's vision of fostering innovation and building skilled personnel for the logistics sector. Airbus' strategic collaboration with GSV is a benchmark for industry-academia partnerships in India, facilitating sector-wide growth and aligning with the national 'Viksit Bharat by 2047' agenda.

The CoE is a testament to Airbus' dedication to R&D, aiming to transform Municipal Solid Waste into Sustainable Aviation Fuel, thus contributing to India's Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission. The partnership supports students with scholarships and establishes academic excellence through professorships, cultivating a resource-rich ecosystem to revolutionize India's future aviation landscape.

Airbus and GSV's collaboration also expands into impactful research, with joint initiatives focusing on sustainable aviation solutions. These efforts utilize GSV's research prowess and Airbus' industrial insights to develop a self-reliant aviation fuel economy. As the sole transportation and logistics-focused university in India, GSV is committed to covering comprehensive academic disciplines, bolstering India's transportation sector.
