Ikea India's Expanding Horizons Amidst Financial Challenges
Ikea India's total loss widened to Rs 1,325.2 crore in FY25 while revenue from operations declined by 3.33%. Despite a rise in advertising expenses and total borrowings, the company is investing in expanding its omnichannel network in India with significant infrastructure investments.

Ikea India, a leading part of the Swedish home furnishings giant, has reported an expansion in total losses to Rs 1,325.2 crore for the fiscal year ending March 2025. Revenue from operations dipped by 3.33% to Rs 1,749.50 crore, according to official filings.
The company's overall income experienced a 3.9% decline to Rs 1,780.10 crore during the same period. Despite these setbacks, Ikea India escalated its advertising and sales promotion expenses by over 14%, reaching Rs 223.9 crore.
In a push to broaden its market presence through an omnichannel approach, Ikea India’s borrowings increased significantly. The company plans to invest Rs 7,000 crore to expand into the National Capital Region by opening new stores in Gurugram and Noida.
