Delhi Set to Launch Open EV Database Amid Major EV Infrastructure Expansion

The Delhi government's transport department is preparing to launch an innovative 'open EV database,' providing invaluable real-time information on the locations and capacities of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout the national capital. This pivotal development was announced on Friday by officials.

A senior transport department official revealed that the forthcoming dashboard will form an integral part of the much-anticipated EV 2.0 policy. This policy, still in the developmental stage, seeks to revolutionize Delhi's EV charging infrastructure.

As it stands, Delhi boasts 9,000 EV charging stations, but ambitious plans are underway to expand this number to 30,000, according to Delhi's Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta. The revised EV policy aims to double the incentive for swapping stations and comes as current regulations near expiration.
