Lift Off in Dubai: Electric Air Taxis to Revolutionize Transport

Joby Aviation is set to launch its electric air taxis in Dubai by the year's end. This announcement was made by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority Chairman, Mattar Al Tayer.

The first test flight took place in June 2025, marking a significant milestone for integrating these aerial taxis into Dubai's transport networks. The taxis can cover up to 160 kilometers at speeds of up to 320 km/h.

With zero emissions and silent operation, these vehicles are ideal for densely populated urban areas. Joby secured a six-year exclusive contract with Dubai's transport authority in early 2024, paving the way for commercial operations.
