DP World's International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) has solidified its commitment to enhancing Cochin Port's capabilities through an agreement with the Cochin Port Authority. The pact aims to develop advanced cargo handling facilities at the port, aligning with India's goals in global trade.
Signed during the International Maritime Week, this collaboration seeks to improve marine infrastructure to accommodate future vessel requirements at DP World's terminal in Cochin. The project has garnered support from the central government, underscoring the strategic importance of the initiative.
Rizwan Soomar, CEO & MD of DP World for MENA and India, highlighted the role of Cochin Port in driving supply chain integration and India's trade. Furthermore, Cochin Port Authority's chairperson, B Kasiviswanathan, emphasized the potential for trade and industrial growth through the infrastructure enhancements.
