Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to convene with exporters from labor-intensive sectors on Monday, aiming to bolster India's competitiveness in the global market, sources revealed.

Representatives will include those from apparel, leather, gems, and jewellery sectors, seeking to address challenges posed by a significant 50 percent tariff imposed by the US on Indian products.

As India remains in talks for a bilateral trade agreement with the US, the urgency of enhancing competitiveness amidst a widening trade deficit has become apparent.
