Pony.ai Pioneers Driverless Robotaxi Revolution in Shenzhen

In a groundbreaking development, Chinese autonomous driving company Pony.ai has received the first citywide permit for driverless commercial robotaxi operations in Shenzhen, a progressive city in southern China. This was announced on Friday.

The permit represents a significant step forward in the adoption of autonomous vehicles and was granted in collaboration with Shenzhen's largest taxi operator, Xihu Group, according to the company’s statement.

The initial phase of driverless operations will commence in the Nanshan, Qianhai, and Baoan districts, with future plans for expansion across the entire city, Pony.ai confirmed.
