Amitabh Kant Joins L&T as Independent Director

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced the appointment of Amitabh Kant, former G20 Sherpa and NITI Aayog CEO, as a non-executive, independent director. The board approved this decision during its recent meeting.

Kant's appointment spans a five-year term beginning October 29, 2025, subject to shareholder approval. This move adds to his roles at HCL Technologies and IndiGo.

Having retired from government service, Kant's impressive career includes recent advisory roles and leadership during India's G20 Presidency. His strategic insights are expected to be beneficial to L&T's board.
