Gujarat's Maritime Vision: Pipavav Port Expansion
The Gujarat Maritime Board and Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd have signed an MoU for a Rs 17,000 crore investment to boost Gujarat's maritime sector. The expansion aims to enhance Pipavav Port's capacity, create 25,000 jobs, and increase the state's economic activities by improving export-import efficiency.

The Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) and Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, committing Rs 17,000 crore to bolster Gujarat's maritime sector.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel joined A P Moller-Maersk Board Chairman Robert Maersk Uggla at the signing event. Pipavav Port, part-owned by A P Moller-Maersk, is a prominent private port near Rajula.
This investment will expand Pipavav Port's capacity, introducing advanced facilities and creating around 25,000 jobs, thus boosting the local economy and aligning with India's 'Maritime Amritkal Vision 2047'.
